Pretty good. I enjoyed it for the most part. It was everything I had expected it to be - nothing more, nothing less. I liked Jessie and Jack’s relationship, especially the transition from friendship (though, was ever really a friendship) to lovers. Though, I thought that the relationship moved a bit fast considering they were engaged by the end.

This book was completely predictable, not that that’s a bad thing, but it would have been nice to have a little something more added to the mix if you get my gist.

My first full audiobook and although the narrating for Jack sucked, I enjoyed it. Sweet and cute, not much drama and angst although too predictable as to how the little drama would unfold. The timeframe was too quick for me too. Millionaire Jack pretends to be a average guy waiter trying to win over waitress Jessie to make sure she loves him for him not his money. Meanwhile jessie wants a rich man to love—that part annoyed me. She also has a 5 year old son, Danny, that plays a good part. Liked the country boy feel from Jack.

Not Quite Dating is the first book in the Not Quite series by author Catherine Bybee.

Having never read anything by this author before, I wasn't sure if this series was going to be a hit for me. I had heard her writing was good -- along with her plots -- with them falling into the 'feel good' romance. What I found was exactly that.

Was the story well written? Yes.
Was the ending predictable like others mentioned? Yes.
Did it give me the feel good vibe by the last page? Yes.

I loved the characters with Jack being my favorite out of the two. While Jessie was written well, Jack was the winner for me.

Why? The main reason is because the characters just clicked for me. I enjoyed the journey with each chapter. The side characters just enhanced the story further.

While there were some things that left me scratching my head -- mainly the behavior of some characters -- as a whole it made the story complete. I can't wait to start reading more by this author!

I had no expectations for this book. I just saw that it was an audible available on my Kindle Unlimited account and I went for it. Yes, I can be very picky about what I read or listen on my Kindle because sometimes the recommendations can be quite ridiculous. However, I really liked this book and I was really happy that I got to listen to it while I was at work today.

Not Quite Dating was a really cute romance novel. I loved both characters, Jack and Jessie, and I definitely fell in love with little Danny. I didn't hate or feel annoyed by any characters - other than the narrator making Jack sound like such a hillbilly. I did laugh, I smiled throughout the whole thing, and my heart did break a little when Jessie, Danny, AND Jack felt heartbroken.

I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book. I also kind of want a love like Jessie and Jack's but without the whole lying thing... I'll accept all the loving though. And an accent.

Book one of Not Quite by Catherine Bybee
Jessie is a single mum working graveyard shift so she can spend time with her young son through the day.
Jack is a billionaire who owns Morrison hotel chain and while on a stag do with his best friends the stop at Denny's for early breakfast where he meets Jessie and instantly fall for her but she plainly informs him that she's looking for a rich husband to get her out of her poor lifestyle.
What Jessie is really looking for is a working reliable man that doesn't lie what she doesn't realise is she's met him but she's too blinded she doesn't notice.
I love this story and how they both bring the best out of each other. They both have faults sometimes Jessie comes across as a gold digger and jack come across as a playboy billionaire.
Really enjoy CB writing style and who she's chosen to do narration for her books.
Great ending but I would have liked epilogue just to tidy finish off.
