I love this book!
As a child I read this trilogy over and over, having now re-read it as an adult I can only say it held up to & exeeded my memory of it.
I discovered themes and aspects that I breezed over as a child and would recommend these books to absolutely everyone.
Of the three books I would say this one is my favourite.
The pictures Cornelia Funke paints with her words... incredible.
Now onto the next book in the series!

Beautiful & moving & dark. Some plot points felt too convenient but a very solid series conclusion.

The conclusion to this lovely little trilogy was just ok to me. The book took a while to take off and I struggled to keep interested. About half way it picked up and got a lot more interesting. I was surprised to find the story more about Mo and Resa than Meggie. I was disappointed by this fact because I expected Meggie's character arc to be more dramatic- her powers to unfold increasingly more with each book. Dustfinger was my favorite character by far- he changed the most. I found it fascinating that Death rid him of almost all fear. Anyway, a good trilogy that I'll read out loud to my kids someday.
