I loved it.
I love them.
Nico the enforcer
Louis the leader
Isaac the take carer
Dimitri the computer guy
Jonas the hilarious one

Nova is a weapon. I am very fond of a fierce lethal woman. She is an amazing character, broken but brought back together and love by these genuinely kind men (whom are also deadly weapon by themselves but who cares).
This is a good RH.

Check the TW because some are really heavy.

This is book 1 in the duet and obviate it ends on a cliffhanger

Definitely some typos that irked slightly but nothing too horrible.

Reverse Harem. Badass FMC. Action-packed.

The story follows Nova, a tatted badass who has spent her adult life running from her past. When she gets the news her father has died, sheโ€™s delighted after spending years being abused and experimented on throughout her childhood. Sheโ€™s prepared to laugh and spit on his grave, what sheโ€™s not prepared for is the 5 gorgeous men waiting for her. The other children.

I enjoyed this one but it wasnโ€™t what I expected and I donโ€™t know how to feel about that. The premise is very good and the FMC is a genuine badass, a trait which I adore. I loved the found family trope, bonus points for sleeping with all of them Nova! I just canโ€™t help feeling like I needed more unhinged smut (and thatโ€™s probably down to Den of Vipers living in my head rent free since I finished it a year ago!)

Tropes:
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆFound family
โ“Why choose
๐Ÿ’”Childhood trauma
๐ŸšบBadass FMC

Overall, Iโ€™m looking forward to reading the finale to this duet.

Nova was on the run. She was one of her father's experiments. But when he passes, Nova comes back to make sure, and try and reconnect with her sister. What she doesn't expect to find, is others like her. Guy's who were experimented on. Or the news that there are still experiments still being carried out. So Nova must make a choice. She could go back to her life on the run, or join forces and try and stop the experiments from continuing on.
So, in the beginning I did really like this story. It had a decent storyline, and was a decent dark read going in. But as we went on the guy's personality started to blend together and I am unsure if one of them is Dmetri (99) or Dimitri (47) bc it is spelled both ways multiple times throughout the book.  Usually spelling mistakes doesn't bother me, and I can ignore it, but bc it was so often, it really stood out and I didn't know which was the correct spelling for the character's name or not, so it was distracting. But about 60% or so, I unfortunately started losing some interest in the story, and it took me longer to finish the ending than it should have been.
If you are looking for a dark why choose romance, with some plot & lots of smut than this might be right up your alley. I did enjoy the story, and wanted to love it, but I didn't really connect with any of the characters. Overall, I give it
3.5 โญ out of 5โญ.
5๐ŸŒถ๏ธ out of 5๐ŸŒถ๏ธ. - s*x over plot, in detail, all the k!nks, spice, dirty talk, etc.

Tropes:

โ†’ why choose romance

โ†’ dystopian romance
โ†’ suspenseful

I really enjoyed the first part of the book, however it descended into a smut fest with the plot taking a back seat fairly quickly. Don't get me wrong, I love smut, however it did get to the point where I got a bit bored of it all and started to skim!

Whatโ€™s it like being an evil scientistโ€™s daughter? Nova would tell you in great detail how horrifying it actually is. She thought she escaped, but his death suddenly made her more valuable than she could imagine. Especially to the 5 men hunting her.

โ€œHer father might have been our torturer, our enemy, but his daughter is our salvation.โ€

The first half was a little slower than I was expecting, but once the spice starts, itโ€™s nonstop fun all the way to the cliffhanger ending! The trauma they work through together ranges from heartbreaking to heartwarming and I could not get enough of how many different ways they showed each other they cared. I will DEFINITELY be getting into the last half of this duet when it comes out!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
