Delightful! This story is like a breath of fresh air, funny and lighthearted. It has its angsty moments that I found necessary to balance out the mood, but it’s the fun part of the story that grabbed me and delighted me.

Hannah inherits the Boston Tomcats football team. She hates football because it took her father’s love and attention from her, but even so, she wants to live up to her father’s expectations and wants to do good by the team. Reading about Hannah learning about football is a hoot. The part where she asks about the fraction backs was hilarious!

I loved both characters, but Hannah especially. She’s a nerd, a financial wiz, and socially clumsy. Her stumbling as she navigates her new world is funny and endearing. Johnny Decker is, as expected of a wealthy and talented quarterback, cocky and arrogant. But he’s brought down to earth when he meets Hannah, who is stubborn and snarky. Their banter is wonderful, their sexual chemistry is wowza, the way their love develops is sweet to read.

There’s a lot of technical jargon about the game that was lost on me, there are some sweetly emotional scenes as Hannah deals with her feelings of loss about her father, there are fun scenes with her bestie Jen and Decker’s teammates. It’s a wonderful and uplifting book that I was very happy to read and look forward to future installments.

Decker: Changing The Play by Kayley Loring & Connor Crais has scored a winning touchdown with these two collaborating. I love the writing style that Kayley has and I was happy to see that her witty style of writing was not lost in this team up. This is the debut for Connor and there were no penalties on his plays lol. Decker is the star Quarterback of the tomcats and he is also the veteran on the team. Enter Hannah who is a spreadsheets/Finance kind of girl who finds out she will be the new owner of her estranged Fathers team.... The Tomcats! Johnny Decker has had the wrap sheet of wrecking some panties here and there and Hannah sees him as just that. Cocky and sexy and completely a no go. There are alot of funny moments and emotional moments as these two work out there dynamics of now Decker missing his leader and the changes to the team and Hannah having to prove she is worthy to own this Team. There were some steamy moments and never a dull moment. There is a curveball when decisions are made and Hannah hopes Decker will approve. Great flow to this story and I loved the side characters from the team. Swoon, sexy, enemies to lovers kind of lol all a great makeup for this to be a win for me.

Kayley Loring and Connor Crais… what an incredible combination! I love this!

Hannah inherited the Tomcats football team when her dad passed away. The team that her dad sacrificed everything for, including her. She hates football, mainly because it was why her father never spent any time with her. She wants to learn, but doesn’t understand the game. Can she get a handle on the game and the players? It’s so fun finding out the answers to all the questions!

Decker is the Tomcats star Quarterback. He’s loved by the team and fans alike. When he first sees Hannah, he doesn’t know who she is, nor does she know who he is. He’s attracted to her. Can he resist? Or does he risk it all?

This combination of writers… it’s a great one! I’m not a football fan, so I feel for, and resonate with, Hannah. Her struggle would be mine! That’s one of the many reasons this book was such a great read for me. I love Kayley Loring’s writing, and have read every book she’s has written. Connor Crais voice… well it’s one I love to see when I look at narrators for a book. His writing… same! I can’t wait to read more from him as well.

This book is so worth the time to read! It’s excellence in story-telling to the max!

Sweetly adorable while still intensely hot. Loring's brilliant comedy shined throughout this fantastic sports romance while her new co-writing partner, Connor Crais, only increased the awesomeness of the overall plot.

You'd think these two have been writing together for years this book was so well done. There was never a point I thought, this sounds exactly like a man, or this is specifically Kayley's writing. It's flawless and perfectly executed. All the charm, cuteness, and loveable qualities that bring me back to Loring's books over and over again was still there, but there was also this extra sprinkle on top that I'm guessing was the Connor factor.  I'm going with that and I'm sticking to it.

John Decker, the reformed panty wrecker, since his main focus is truly on football and not ravaging all the panties in Boston like when he was a young rookie. His character is likeable from start to finish. He's a leader on and off the field and he reminded me a lot of great players across generations and in other various sports as well. Whomever the inspiration was for Loring and Crais to draw from, they did a fantastic job on creating and drawing out a well rounded QB1. It's been years since I've asked questions and really paid attention to specifics in football. It's on my TV on the weekends mostly as background noise, but Decker even refreshed the old spirit in this gal and I found myself paying more attention to the TV than I have in years.

I adored Hannah Strong and loved that she was a woman willing to step into a man's world and never give up. That strength in character is a trait that more women need to see and experience in everyday life and it's slowly changing over time, but I love that it's also happening in the fictional world too. Women are still a minority when it comes to being owners of sports teams. Hannah had a big job in finance before she came over to the sports world, so she had analytics behind her. What she didn't have was any knowledge of the sport she was taking over, however, she did have the panty wrecker willing to give her a hand...with several things.

These two were pure fire from the beginning and their chemistry never let up. I also loved Hannah's quest for knowledge and her undying, relentless pursuit to never quit. No matter how tough something was she wasn't going to stop. That is the same ethics that professional athletes have and it's ultimately what wins them over as well, especially the QB1.

Is there some drama, of course, but are there lots of quirky, hot, fun times too...yes!! This book brings it all, along with lots of football.

Decker
Changing the Play
By: Kayley Loring, Connor Crais
Narrated by: Connor Crais, Mackenzie Cartwright, Ava Lucas, Ron Butler

Need to laugh out loud? How about fall in love? Enjoy a sports romance? Then this book is just what you are looking for. The collaborative writing of Kayley Loring and Connor Crais comes together and brings us a story that had me laughing and head over heals all while enjoying the game of football. And that is one game I never watch! Hannah inherits the love of her father's life, his football team. Their strained relationship left her not understanding the game or his passion for it. But she always throws herself in full into her businesses and this one is no exception. Johnny(Decker) is the first string quarterback, and though not accepting the choice of management, does what he can to make the transition smooth. And our story begins. Witty banter between these two, funny moments from the pile up at the funeral to a burp that goes on forever and foreplay that is so hot, it will scorch your ears! This is just the kind of story that makes me know exactly why I love to listen to romance. Loring and Crais are a fantastic team, and their creativity and comedy make this one a touchdown!

Take the amazing story and add four amazing narrators to it, and it's the Heisman Trophy winner of performances. Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright are Decker and Hannah. Both with perfect comedic timing and a chemistry that shines through. Then add in Ava Lucas and Ron Butler with supporting characters and we get the extra point! Quick news bites and parent interaction give us more laughs and a little angst, perfect additions to the performance. I loved it!
