Seth improved, I liked the story, and I thought Mull did an excellent job of building tension. It was a more complex story than his first, and highly enjoyable.

This was a re-read for me but first time for my kiddos. We love Kendra, Seth and the caretakers of Fablehaven. These books are just as good the second time around and are perfect for older kids, teens, and adults alike.

Just an enjoyable quick young adult, and even child's book. It has great inter-generational character relationships, incredible thematic ideas for children, and quick plot driven storyline that focuses on the fantastical and the possibility of being a hero.

A great sequel to the first one. It was fun to see what other powers Kendra has and to see Seth make a difference too.
