Astonishingly ahead of its time in terms of presenting setting information in an RPG and tying the structure of the RPG to the social structure of the setting, and much clearer at expressing its OD&D-variant rules than OD&D itself. That said, later games would do both of these things better, and have the benefit of not being written by someone also significantly involved in neo-Naziism and Holocaust denial.
