This book has convinced me that I can read and enjoy romance novels. It was fast-paced, easy to read, and super sweet. It has the littlest hint of spice, but is mainly character-drama driven. Honestly this book was less about two characters falling in love, than the characters bettering themselves with the support and love given to them by their partner. And the third act conflict wasn't out of nowhere or due to some unrelated misunderstanding. Super cute, really good!

This is a super cute small town with some southern twists in NC. We get busybodies getting their noses in things, June is running her families inn, the highway moved so less tourist, upcoming festive, Clay is back from Afghanistan and going to open a bar in honor of this friend - Bug, we also have family drama, Clay and June trying to figure out life and how they fit into each other lives. We also get some steamy but close door-is.
Overall, I can't wait for more of this series!!

This was cute but it felt lacking. Like the heat and chemistry and tension was on a simmer and I didn't get the falling and helping each other in the amount I wanted.

The Inn on Sweetbrair Lane is the first book in the Blue Cedar Falls series and is the first books I’ve read from Jeannie Chin. This romance book dives into enemies-to-lovers, small town life, community, and finding your identity. Overall, this was a decent small town romance. I liked that there was a diverse set of characters and it wasn’t the typical all-white small town. The part that didn’t work for me was that the author was trying to hard to make the main characters, June and Clay, extreme enemies at the beginning. I wished that the author fleshed out the last quarter of the book. There’s quite a bit that happens but it’s tidied up too quickly. Overall, this was a 3 star read for me. I would be open to reading the second book in the series, Return to Cherry Blossom Way, which releases in August.

Main character June deals with love, family business and personal problems all at once throughout the premier novel in the Blue Cedar Falls series.
Read if you love: army romance, small town
Thank you to the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m kind of torn on this one. I liked the small-town feel of the story and you’ll always catch me falling for the grumpy hero. However, at times, Clay came across more as vindictive and callous, not just misunderstood. June was likeable but the secrets and self-inflicted singular responsibilities she was dealing with seemed like too much and too often.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I just didn’t LOVE it.

This book was a cute and classic love story! I really enjoyed June’s character. Overall I found this book enjoyable but slightly dragging in parts. I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet romance that also has unexpected depth.
