This comic has an awesome, gritty artstyle and a world I couldn’t get enough of to match. The unicorn and talking dragon skeleton’s immediately had my attention. They were so cool and unlike anything I’ve seen before.

There were a few times when I found things a bit hard to read, but I still enjoyed myself and will be keeping an eye out for volume 2 at my library.

Gorgeous art and colors — every page is stunning. Post apocalyptic high fantasy, featuring a nameless bard trying to save his wife. The twist toward the end is perfection and the main couple rules. Will definitely keep up with this series

Interesting world and story with incredibly vibrant colors, but I found some of the action sequences confusing, which meant I spent a lot of time scrutinizing pages to make sure I understood the details of the battle vs. feeling immersed in the universe.

Таких візуально яскравих і прекрасних коміксів я ще не читала. Чудова історія, і неочікуваний плот твіст.
Переклад просто пісня, мов смачний сирник.

I absolutely loved this. The art was my favorite, bright and neon and intricate and perfect. The storyline was jaunty and interesting and I love Hum and Nag and the little urchin girl and all the twists.

“Hm. My experience? It’s the underdogs who deserve the bone.”

“Fact is? I can’t help but like her. At least she’s honest about being a liar.”

“Well, you’re gone now. You’re gone and I swear on every god rotting in the heavens I would do anything to save you, monstrous or not.”

“Change or die, mate. Even the Stabbyhorse gets it.”

Shoutout to my lovely partner for lending me this one. The art is great. The main relationship is wild and fun times. Will be continuing with the series for sure!

There have been a bunch of books in the last few years with similar color palletes, and quite a few with a similar art style. There have also been a fair amount of humorous fantasy adventure books, and post apocalyptic tales. This story flips all the others on their backs and exposes their scarred, shameful bellies.

The writing is fun, and often actually funnier than humorous. The plot doesn't have to be repeatedly explained, and does not require a Beautiful Mind wall of subplots to track what has happened in the prestory, the flashbacks, the flash forwards, the meanwhiles, or through seven hundred narration boxes on every page. Magic is gone. A race has been wiped out. The main character's wife was at least kidnapped, maybe killed by the bad guys and he wants revenge through any means necessary.

The art is inventive and gorgeous. The colors are bright.

I recommend this to anyone looking for fantasy that can make you laugh, people who liked the ideas behind Rat Queens or Scales & Scoundrels or Skullkickers but weren't too fond of the execution, and fans of Head Lopper.
