My favorite part was how this book took the traditional elements of the story and gave them really unique twists (for example, the mirror and Snow White's appearance) as well as throwing in a talking squirrel and dragons for good measure. :P I also liked that the fairies take wishes so literally. The story itself could've been expanded more- maybe not a full-blown novel, but longer than the current length. The characters themselves were interesting but maybe not the most memorable. Overall, a fun, original SW retelling that can be read in less than an hour.

Content: None/Mild.

Quite short, but good. I liked the main character. The story had all the elements of the original fairy tale with a couple new spins. Enjoyable, and a quick read. 4 stars.

Lea Doué definitely knows what's she's doing here; the world-building is FANTASTIC. While I was a bit thrown by the dragons within this Snow White tale, it was a delightful retelling. The characters were developed and realistic, while remaining true to the original characters. I loved the dwarves and their motives, not to mention the dragons. ;) I did find, however, that the story was rather anti-climatic. She goes on and on about needing to have a plan but not having one, but then the end is executed quickly and expertly. It was, overall, more of a glimpse into a world than an action-packed new retelling, but I did enjoy it.

Beta read this and really enjoyed it. Worth it just for the squirrel but also has dragons and some unique fun magic.
