Once again I have to thank Destiny for buddy reading these books with me. I had so much fun reading and discussing them with her.
My feeling for this one are pretty much the same as the other 2 books in this series however this one is my favorite of the 3. I think it's my favorite because while it is still pretty simplistic it was also slightly darker which I loved. This one was pulling at my heart strings in the end. I was afraid something was going to happen that I really didn't want to happen even though it probably should happen.
Middle grade isn't my age range of choice but despite these books being on the simplistic side I still really enjoyed reading them.

Ay Nueva Orleans como quiero conocerte y gracias a Cassidy (y Victoria Schwab) quiero conocerte todavía más. Como esperaba esta maga de la narrativa juvenil a logrado captar a la perfección toda el aura de magia y misterio que rodea a Nueva Orleans y ha introducido a Cassidy muy bien en su ambiente. Sin embargo, con toda la premonición y predisposición que puso en Jacob (con los sueños de Cassidy y sus visiones) y toda la fuerza oscura del emisario de la muerte me esperaba una batalla final mucho más intensa.
Además no se porque (tal vez porque tengo clavada la espina de Addie LaRue para toda la eternidad) pero me hubiera gustado que Cassidy tuviera que perder algo, aprender algo fundamental de este enfrentamiento con el emisario de la muerte. Pero la situación se resolvió bastante rápido, relativamente fácil y Cass conservo todo lo que quería y siguió cazando fantasmas. Entiendo que es una novela juvenil pero los jóvenes (y en esta época más que nunca) deben aprender que las acciones tienen consecuencias y que no podemos salir de los problemas tal y como entramos. Y creo que esa habría sido una buena enseñanza para Cassidy.
Jacob también debió ser un problema en algún momento (tanto que soñó con eso y me dejo con las ganas de verlo convertido en un ser descontrolado y destructivo) sacarlo de una situación así, en Nueva Orleans, habría sido la mejor cereza para esta trilogía.
Pero bueno, sigue siendo una linda historia de fantasmas para iniciar a lectores jóvenes.

I've had enough at all the Harry Potter reverences. Schwab, you can do better.
Apart from that I felt as if there was too much repetition about what happened in the other two novels. Yes, shocking, I remember what happened, I read them. I was also growing tired of Cassidy being so dumb and never learning. Perhaps it is for the best that this was the last novel of the series.

Mit diesem Buch ist die Trilogie um Cassidy und ihre Freunde abgeschlossen. Es ist ein gutes Ende, das zumindest mich zufrieden zurückliess. Man merkt natürlich, dass sich Schwab eine kleine Hintertüre offen gelassen hat - man könnte ja noch ein Buch dazu schreiben.
Der Abschlussband funktioniert genauso wie die vorherigen Bücher. Will heissen: viel Atmosphäre, Grusel und Spass. Man muss Cassidy, Jakob und Lara einfach mögen. Hier wird auch ihre Beziehung untereinander weiterentwickelt und vertieft. Ja, ich könnte mehr von ihnen vertragen. Und wenn Schwab in dergleichen Qualität weiterschreibt - dann gerne mehr davon!
