This book drew me in, in a way that not many books do. I plowed through this book and onto the next. I'm waiting now to read the side story, and will soon be left waiting for the 3rd book of the series like the rest of Rothfuss' fans, but even if it never comes, it will have been worth the read.

Genuinely one of the best books I’ve read in the past 5 years. I had to limit myself on reading times, because I didn’t want to be late to things or stay up late because I couldn’t put it down. I would 100% recommend this to any high fantasy fan.

Story-within-a-story setup, a bit self-aggrandizing by the main character (total gary stu) but ultimately it's one of those classic fantasy style books with solid worldbuilding and a good pace.
