This book was VERY good, I enjoyed how she twisted the storyline about Bobby's daughter, however the last chapter was a let down. She leaves you hanging somewhat, I wonder if she will right a follow up....

I really enjoyed reading this book, it didn't seem like a long book (but this could be because I couldn't put it down!) and not as in-depth as her previous book, Retribution. It is however a nice refreshing change on the serial killer front, especially as the book jumped from each person's perspective without giving too much away and leaving enough unexpected twists to keep me reading. The end was slightly disappointing for me but the journey getting there was good enough to keep me hooked. If you are a fan of serial killer books then this one is one you can't miss.

I have wanted to read Pretty Little Things for awhile now so tonight I began to read it.Took me 3 hours.

Pretty Little Things is definetely a serious book. Jilliane Hoffman discusses issues that happen everyday involving Teenagers and how social media like Myspace, Facebook, Yahoo and every other social interaction site and how teenage girls and boys fall victims to rapists, pedophiles and predators.

This was hard read because of the issues I have discussed above and the sick and twisted mind of this predator.Despite all of this, I found this book truly gripping and it definitely had me guessing til the end. A good read and I would recommend any parent to read this book and to talk to their kids about online interactions to people they dont know.

Jilliane Hoffman does a good job of writing from the perspectives of many different characters with plenty of style - her talent for this really adds depth to the book and draws you into the stories of the different characters. Other than this, there is nothing really too memorable about the plot - although I did find it tricky to put down at the time of reading. It is a good and easy read that doesn't go too much into intricate details or gore and has enough suspense to keep you happy.

Recommendations: Crime fans looking for something that has pace and grit but doesn't go too far into gory details will love Hoffman's debut.

Pretty Little Things was very hard to put down. I had guessed who turned out to be the killer but still wasn't disappointed by the end. Well written and very scary. Especially to every parent of a teenager.

I found this a frustrating read. If I could I'd give it 2.5 stars.

It should have been good but just wasn't quite there.

Far too much time was taken up with Red Herring No 1, Lainey's Step Dad. It was obvious he wasn't the suspect.

Second, the only real possibility after the Step Dad was the Reporter. Admitably, the author tried to throw in a curve ball by presenting an alternative pedophile, The Captain - who dies suddenly. But as soon as the Author revealed 5 days had passed before any clues could be gleaned from his (now identified) body, he was ruled out.

For all the laborious drawn out beginning, the end was then rushed. There was no insight into the killer. First he's watching religious stuff, then he's a painter, then he's a failed journo. It wasn't very convincing. How did he know the cops were on to him? Baring in mind rhe Detective only found the location of his "house of horrors" by accident - driving around one of several possible places.

All in all it was disappointing, but still had something that kept me reading. I think this Author has legs. After all this is a 1st novel.
