Never let it be said that Nazemian can’t write real people. I felt so intimately intertwined in the minds of these characters after just one POV chapter from each of them, and they were so fleshed out and complex it was like I had already read an entire book on their lives leading up to Chandler. I wish that there was perhaps a bit more plot, but I’m sure the whole point is to focus more on the intricacies of human empathy and discuss some important issues. It might have been a bit heavy-handed at times, but the messages are all layered with a good amount of nuance to make it feel more grounded in reality, like how these topics are actually confronted in the world. Overall a great character study from the man who makes me actually enjoy reading boring character studies.
