This used to be my least favorite out of all the books in the Harry Potter series.  That's definitely not the case anymore (I'll give my new ranking for the series once I finish the final book).  The Voldemort backstory stuff (which I found rather boring before) is SO GOOD now.  The ending is extremely emotional and leaves you excited to read the seventh novel.  Just one more to go!

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan so I love all the books and have read/listened to them multiple times. This is one of my favourites as it starts to dig into the darker and more complicated parts of the story, helping us better understand the link between Harry and Voldemort. I also like the deepening relationships between Harry and Dumbledore and Harry and Ginny and more focus on Snape and Malfoy as it makes the story richer and more mature as the characters get older.

Harry had a lot of adult putting even more weight and responsibly on his shoulders and honestly has more expected of him than anyone else in this universe. It was annoying that everyone and the kitchen sink knew that there was more information that Dumbledore was keeping from Harry but no way to figure it out. Interesting to see Harry with a new perspective with Ginny and Slughorn. Ginny plays such a bigger part than the movies let on!

"It was, he thought, the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high. Some people, perhaps, would say that there was little to choose between the two ways, but Dumbledore knew - and so do I, thought Harry, with a rush of fierce pride, and so did my parents - that there was all the difference in the world."

Aaaaah. This was so good. I think it's my favorite one so far... the relationship drama, the high school drama, the Voldemort drama... it was all so juicy and I loved it so much. And this book was gut wrenching too. Like... what in the twists and turns, and how does she come up with things like this??? I can't believe I only have one book left. I'm not ready to say goodbye. At least I can binge the movies after this...

Ranking:
  1. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
  2. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  5. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  6. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
