I loved this book, all up to the last chapter :(

We learned a lot more about Corine, where she comes from, what she can do, and what kind of person she is. The way she interacts with Shannon is awesome, and they get along so well, helping each other and trusting each other.

There was a lot of new things to learn about Kel as well, and he's even more intriguing now than he was before. And the way Corine inadvertantly learned more about herself thanks to him was just great. And I was very pleased that she was actually able to save him right back :) A strong woman can do that, and Corine is getting stronger all the time.

More about Books as well, I can't wait for an actual meeting between Corine and him.

I loved how she went after what she needed to get the help she had to have against Montoya, and the final face-down with Montoya and his sorcerer was totally amazaing.

However, what came after that was really disappointing!
Spoiler First of all Jesse and Shannon having forgotten ALL about Corine was just stupid! Both of them are gifted as well, and should not be touched by her spell for all that long. It didn't even make all that much sense to me that it had to happen at all, we already realized that Corine used a little too much force in her spells - she almost got on fire making them :O And even more disappointed by her giving in so easily to Chance in the very end... come on, even if Jesse can't remember you right now, you are supposed to be dating him exclusively!! What are you doing with Chance? Third time back with the same guy does not do it for me. So yeah, disappointed in the end for sure.

Corine is gifted with the touch, she can handle an object and tell not only it's past but also it's future. Her last great adventure took her to Georgia where she grew up to find her mothers murderer. While she was there she gained the power her mother left behind, and a debt with a demon. Shady Lady starts out with her back at her shop in Mexico. Montoya is a drug lord who's attention she gained, when putting a stop to one of his plans, and one of his illegal operations. Several love interests here. Chase the ex, love lost, and he hasn't even bothered to call. Jesse Saldana, the cop, would give anything for to move to Laredo to spend her life with him. Then there is the mysterious Kel, supposedly he is God's right hand. He isn't a contender, because he barely tolerates Corine. When things unexpectedly heat up between the two of them, she is aware that because of his calling he can never stay. Saldana is a safe bet, he is a good man, with a good family. If she chooses him though, I will feel like she is settling for safe instead of true love, as cliche as that sounds. Shady Lady wasn't as good as it's predecessors, but still a good read.

SHADY LADY is another great addition to the Corine Solomon series. I LOVED Kel in this book, I never would have thought that he would grow on me and I would find myself pulling for him. He really has been a surprise awesome character that I want to see more of and high hopes for to be in Corine's life. When I saw that Chance wasn't playing a big part in SHADY LADY I was kind of disappointed, But Kel kinda made me realize that I kinda hope Chance doesn't have a chance. Shannon is also a great character I didn't see being so awesome. After the events in HELL FIRE I thought she would make some appearances but now I cant see the series without her in it. Butch of course is still the coolest dog ever and we see he has some other talents under his paws. SHADY LADY was full of twist turns and action. I never knew what was coming and I never wanted to stop reading. I defiantly thought it was the best book of the series yet. The Ending?? OMFG Seriously? WTH? PLEASE be temporary, that has to be the most messed up situation ever. I really reallly reallllllly hope that the ending result is temporary. DEVILS PUNCH cant come out soon enough.

3.5 but would have been a solid 4 if not for the last bit. This was a vast improvement, with the only major drawback that this woman bounced between three romantic partners in what, two weeks? Like monogamous-ish in love with a real future kind of romance. What? I was into the Kel thing because there was actual chemistry, something intriguing and believable in that world. Then Jesse is inexplicably there, which is boring but ok. Then convenient plot twist to get him out of the way for Chance, who is so boring considering he’s supposed to be dangerous or whatever. The vibe is pretty flat.

But ugh the first 60% or so was really good, and most of the next 35% or so was pretty good. On to the next…

Didn't like this one as much as the previous book. Didn't like how she ends up with basically nothing at the end of the book. Although Chance turns up he hasn't actually done anything that makes me feel like he in any way makes up for all she has lost.I don't mind the heroine going through all sorts of trauma in the story as long as she comes out on top at the end, which I really didn't feel like she did. Would have liked it a lot better if she retained her best friend.

While I love Ann Aguirre's 'Grimspace' series just a teensy bit more, this series is fantastic as well. I totally did not see the stuff with Kel happening before this book but the author's amazing writing had me going with it the whole way. So far the only disappointment Ann Aguirre's ever given me is that her books end.

Though not quite ad good as its predecessor, I still enjoyed thus book. Corine grows a lot and makes some tough decisions and we find out a
bit more of her backstory.

*******SPOILER ALERT*******

Omg, how frustrated was I by the ending though!!!!! Ugh! Back with Chance?!? I never liked him when I did! And the permanent memory spell thing?! Booooooo! Not that I'm all that excited for her to be with Jesse, but we can't lose Shannon! Wah.
