We start off travelling from America to the UK for a family reunion. Then a murder happens during this event and we are there trying to find out who did this. I enjoyed the interaction with all the This is an extremely fun murder mystery I have to admit I was very concerned to think as I going to think this was the same as Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. At times this mystery made me laugh out loud as they are all eccentric characters which make this more enjoyable as they are cheeky to boot. It's a cute Cozy Mystery to read.

Well, Pemberley, Eliza and Darcy – obviously my first pick of the month. I am a hardcore Jane Austen fan and this book did pique my interest. Eliza Darcy, a descendant to “THE DARCY” visits Pemberley for a family reunion to patch up differences between her father and uncle. Things go haywire when the social etiquettes are replaced by murder and mayhem. Eliza along with the swoon-worthy Heath. Eliza is an amateur detective and half the time errs, but she gets some solid clues which become the game changer.
Being an ardent Jane Austen fan, I did find references to the original P&P characters not really necessary, this book could have carried on as a contemporary murder mystery book “as-is”. But I did not mind revisiting the good old P&P characters at all, this book was fun But the book was overall fun and easy to read. A good mystery, eagerly waiting for what the author has in store for the rest of the books in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Murder Most Pemberley by Jessica Berg is a beautiful start to a brilliant series.

Will Eliza figure out Pemberly secrets before the past ruins the future?

Eliza Darcy

Eliza is a descendant of Elizabeth Bennett-Darcy. She and her cat Caesar are going to Pemberley for a family reunion. Seriously, they are going to Pemberly. Yes, in England. And yes, she is taking her cat as her plus one. I think Eliza is fabulous. She isn't good with dressing herself, but not everyone is, which is why she has her best friend. Eliza has a healthy bit of curiosity, with a touch for sleuth. She enlists her Aunt and cousin to help her figure out what is going on at Pemberley. The three of them are delightfully funny.

Murder Most Pemberley CRMystery and Romance

There is a murder, an attack, a disappearance, things missing from guest rooms, and a highly stuck-up aunt that doesn't like Eliza. Said Aunt may have been involved with Eliza's dad and be the reason that Eliza's dad and uncle don't talk anymore. Eliza plans to find out everything before she has to head home.

Although, Eliza has found Heath, an Englishman who was visiting a friend in Eliza's area. The two of them hit it off right away and get closer as the story progresses. Especially since Heath is Eliza's cousin's ex-boyfriend, and she is trying to get Eliza and Heath together. They do make a great couple.
Five Stars

Murder Most Pemberley by Jessica Berg is witty, with just enough mystery and balance of romance. I truly enjoyed reading this first book in a new series, and I am looking forward to the next installment. I highly recommend this to all you cozy readers out there.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What a clever new Cozy Mystery Series! I loved the links from Pride and Prejudice and the fact that there are Darcy’s in this book. Eliza Jane Darcy, the main character is looking for adventure and love at a family reunion in Merry old England. What Eliza finds are many mysteries and family secrets.

Did I mention that Eliza becomes an amateur detective when a murder is committed at the reunion? What follows left me on a merry chase along with Eliza and the other quirky characters in this book. Aunt Iris was an absolute favorite of mine, full of life and ready for any adventure that comes her way! Eccentric characters are a must for me in a cozy mystery and Aunt Iris fits the bill.

There is a lot going on in this book but it did not take away from the main story. I enjoyed the heaping side dish of romance served up between Eliza and Heath, just enough not to be too sappy. I had no idea as to who the culprit was as there were many twists and turns along the way.

The setting, the characters, and the plot were a win for me. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Exceedingly silly and surprisingly boring. I was disappointed in the main character and confused by too many names. The imagined progeny of Elizabeth and Darcy could have been interesting and fun, but this book did not deliver. I had to force myself to finish it. The author frequently mentions a book on English colloquialisms and I think she must have bought one and attempted to use them all in the narrative. Instead of the smooth, rich cadence of Austen, we get a mish-mash of American and British modern slang. Not impressed.

Oh my goodness what’s not to like about his book !? It’s starts with a quote from Lizzy Bennet Darcy so I was already sold ❣️📕

I was in stitches before I even paged my first page “ Sexy underwear or granny panties …” 😂😂😂😂 and then Belle , Eliza’s best friend teases her about her choice of books and the fact that she’s actually packing books on a trip and well I must say I’m very much like Eliza there ❣️📕😉

The characters are just loveable and quirky from aunts and uncles to cooks and friends they all just have this way to climb into your heart and make you smile and wonder .

There’s was more than just giggles though there was a mystery and family secrets that kept me guessing and on my toes and all is not as it seems 😉

We can’t forget the romance either can we !? ❣️There we’re endless cups of teas and delectable treats to have with these lovely folk …

I read some critique about this book and I was saddened because there’s so much to love about this read ❣️📕and I just want more !!!!

I am not going to lie, I saw the name "Darcy," in the description, and I jumped at the chance to read this book.  Every so often, I get into a P&P mood and I reread the book and watch the movie a few times and then binge similar period content. I was in such a mood, when I ran across this book.

The book centers around Eliza Darcy, a descendent of Elizabeth Bennet Darcy, and her journey to a family reunion held at Pemberley.  Her father is estranged from his family and she wants to know why.  This is essentially the first time she meets the majority of her father's family.  As a string of murders occur, Eliza channels her inner Nancy Drew, and starts to do her own investigation.  Throw in some family drama and a eccentric aunt, something many of us can relate too, and follow her on her mystery.  I do plan to follow the series to see what other shenanigans Eliza finds herself in.  It was an easy and fun read and totally recommend it.
