This book mostly felt like a side quest - a fun one though! Just like the others, it picked up towards the end.

Okay so this was... kinda disappointing if I'm being honest. It doesn't work on the same level as the previous books did. I mean, even the second book was a compelling space adventure that was very entertaining but this... this was some Indiana Jones shit and I was just not here for that. The environment wasn't exactly my cup of tea and the lack of our original characters didn't help.

Also I don't like the idea of having even more characters to follow. It just gets a bit confusing and I don't know who to trust. But Spensa's inner conflicts were interesting so I give the book a pass in this regard.

Overall, it was a disappointing book that felt distant from the rest of the series and it did not work for me at all. It had some fairly good moments especially with M-bot and, of course, Jorgen who had like 3 appearances through the book. So for that reason I'll give the book 3 stars.

༺You are not a tool to strike. Not a rock to bludgeon...You are a star ✶

Cytonic takes place immediately after the end of Starsight. It also simultaneously takes place as SunReach and ReDawn. Spensa has escaped Superiority forces and is now in the Nowhere, the home of the delvers. Here she hopes to learn more of her powers to aid her people. She meets a new and interesting group of characters who end up joining her on her journey. I loved it. Will always recommend this series. Now…
