I am floored by how much I loved these essays. The heart and comedy and devastation of the queer experience exists in perfect balance. I want to print out the lesbian canon list and tape it to my bedroom walls like a psycho.

i have to say, it was quite disappointing. i didn't really like it. it's one thing to be ground breaking in your existence as lesbian non fiction, but quite a different thing to actually say anything ground breaking, and unfortunately, this book just doesn't have it. the writing style is quite strange- it's a millennial trying to appeal to a gen z audience, and it doesn't work. it just ends up being quite cringey and bizarre. i was quite looking forward to reading this book as perhaps an eye opener into lesbian culture, and while i did learn some things, it was really quite a slog to get through.

This book was cute and funny and gay and relatable but ultimately I didn’t get that much out of it.

Spoiler extremely millennial. The chapter on the author’s realization that her love for women was not just based out of her experiences with abusive men, but that those experiences still had weight, was amazing. The rest of the book didn’t match up to what I expected and just didn’t keep me hooked.
