Not as good as the Queens and Monsters series. Definitely in that same universe (we love a cameo), but it felt like she was running out of ideas or relying too much on tropes. It was a fun read, but I don't think I'll be back to finish the series.

It's hard talking about this book without spoiling it. I guessed the "twist" halfway through the book (it's not hard to see it coming honestly) and I had inklings all the way from the first pages so I read this with that idea in mind. I don't know if it changes your experience of the characters. I'm mentioning this because like other J.T. Geissinger's books, things are not black or white. But saying they are shades of gray isn't quite true either. For me, it's about bad people doing good stuff and good people doing terrible things. When they're terrible, they're terrible and my main gripe with her books is that the forgiveness is sometimes a bit too easy to obtain. It's not so much the case here because there's a lot of groveling done but honestly, I owe it to the FMC to be strong, enjoyable and hilarious. Even when she's down, she's a force to be reckoned with. I loved that about Emery.

The heat is still there (Geissinger writes GREAT heat) and if you're into dysfunctionnal almost but not quite toxic relationship, you'll find your happiness within these pages.

I didn't hate this book, but i didn't love it either. I was SO into it before i found out the "secret" then it just kind of died for me. I loved PenPal so i was hoping to love this one too. In the beginning i loved both Emory and Callum. The spiciness was adequate. J.T Giessinger writes decent spice. I also feel like in these kinds of plots that the friends are usually the "voice of reason" but in this case they all seemed to be drinking the Callum Kool-aid. The tattoos... it was a bit much. Overall it wasn't a bad read. It was entertaining for sure. A little M. Night Shyamalan-ish. Like its so good then its revealed and its like why did you do that! Idk i just needed a bit more.

The sassy heroine too stubborn to accept a much needed help more often than not is more annoying than cute.

unfortunately, the lady did protest too much in this one. you're broke, about to lose your business and apartment, then a billionaire offers to marry you and pay for all of it but 30% in the book, you're still saying no to him? granted, he's the cause of all the misfortune, but I digress.

The tattoos were slightly cringe and I could see where this was going from a mile away, but I enjoyed it.
