This was my first time reading anything by Patterson. I have to admit that I'm hooked. It was a fairly decent story. There were things that made me groan and I did figure things out. However, there were a few surprises thrown in there. It was somewhat difficult for me to get over comparing his novel to how things really work in the criminal justice system. That is just something I always have problems with though. I really don't think that a cop would ever make friends with a reporter like that. When I worked for the P.D. I was sick to death of the press. I do like the idea and it makes great fiction. I thought the story was really interesting and I was captivated the whole time. The ending was a bit predictable, but on the whole not bad. All in all, not a bad read. I will definitely continue on with the series.

OK, so this is my second James Patterson. I read Guilty Wives and was surprised by it. This one is more mystery-by-the-numbers. I love a good mystery, and would keep reading this style of book, even though there is nothing special about it. You've got some decent characters, decent writing, a plot with enough twists to keep you guessing. Great? No. Just decent. A brainless read for when you don't want to be too taxed intellectually.

James Patterson never fails to keep a reader guessing. I found myself not wanting to put this book down because I knew I'd only be able to answer my questions with the last few pages. With exciting plot twists and an unexpected ending, 1st to Die makes my top 10 list. I will definitely be finishing this series along with the rest of Patterson's other novels.

The ending gutted me but it was a good book. I kind of predicted the plot but enjoyed it nonetheless.

It’s classic James Patterson. I couldn’t put it down. None of my plans for today went as they should, so I decided to finish this off instead. In this, you follow Lindsay, an investigator on the San Fransisco Police Department as she tries to find a serial killer who’s offing brides and grooms on their wedding nights. With the help of her friends; Claire, a medical examiner, Cindy, a reporter, and Jill, a DA, she cracks the case but at a great personal cost. It’s grisly, it’s tense, and the twist is ✨perfection✨. I loved it, as I usually do when it comes to James Patterson and I’ll be hunting down the rest of the series because I can always use more good books
