This is one of the smoothest stories I have ever read - smooth is an odd word - but still...This book is so seamless, the editor must have been a genius (and the author, of course). There weren't too many loose threads - considering it seems to be another one of those darn series books....The author was great moving things forward and the characters were likeable. I look forward to the next book.

Entertaining, quick read. Definitely recommend if you enjoyed Divergent or The Hunger Games. My only real complaint is that the book is written from two different viewpoints alternating every chapter, but both characters have almost exactly the same voice. Given the different walks of life that Day and June come from, you would think that their internal monologue would be very different especially in the language that they use. Even so, I'm excited to read the second one though I find that many of these trilogies start off strong and then fizzle out by the end. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this series is different.

Ok so this one started out pretty promising. It had the action that I look forward to in dystopian books but then it turned into this predictable thingyness. By the time one of the leads finds out the story's twist you already knew it like a million pages ago when it first occurred. My other issue was the obvious relationship thing. I mean these two kids don't know eachother and I don't feel like they were around eachother long enough for those feelings to manifest except for the normal physical attraction. I guess ill continue on in the series since that's what I usually do.

A really solid YA novel. Very interesting and entertaining characters, although the inevitable romance subplot was rushed and a bit unnatural. I'm looking forward to getting the next book.
