Cute college romance. I really want to watch women’s hockey after reading this.
Still, I’m not really a sports fan and there’s a LOT of hockey subplots which bored me quickly so I started to skim through Sam’s scenes when he wasn’t with her. But sports romance fans will probably love this.

Deanna Grey has become an autoread for me now that I’ve read 3 of her books and loved them all. I love Sam. I love Aderyn. I really expected this to have a bit of a rival set up but it wasn’t -- there’s immediate mutual respect between these two and the bet they set up is just a result of them teasing each other. I also love that while she is into him, he falls first and he falls HARD. The ending kind of felt like a quick fix to a complicated problem and I think something could’ve been done there, but the book was sooo lovely!

I preferred this to Sunny Disposition, both in terms of the couple and the plot. More fun, more chemistry and spice, and a bit more substance.
Loved the representation of Black hockey players and women's hockey.
I really didn't care for the ending though.

I really really loved this book! I was immediately intrigued by diverse hockey player at the collegiate level, but Aderyn and Samson specifically were ADORABLE. I love Aderyn. I relate to her quite a bit and I’m so happy to see her get her (well deserved) HEA. I was even surprised by the ending a bit which rarely seems to happen anymore, lol. Can’t wait for the next one!
