Luther Whitney is a career criminal burglarising a billionaire’s home when he witnesses something that no one will believe. As he tries to expose the event and it’s subsequent coverup, he becomes the prime suspect as he get’s framed for the crime. The novel follows his quest to bring justice to those involved in the coverup which leaves a trail of bodies getting closer to the people that he holds most dear.

This book was fairly good. There were enough plot twists to keep it interesting and I didn’t know where the story was going at times or how it was going to end. It is a bit slow in the first half with a lot of character’s being added and the viewpoint jumping between them. I do feel that the chapters should have been shorter or split up by character as some chapters can take over an hour to finish.

I am not a massive fan of the ending as I do feel that there are some things that are left unanswered and some things that were not overly realistic.

The pace definitely picked up in the second half which is good as it was pretty slow going before that and a bit difficult to read with the jumps and the amount of side plots being introduced that I don’t always think added much to the story. It was worth the wait and I think that 3.5/5 is a fair rating for this book. Not the worst I’ve read but definitely room for improvement.

If you’re a fan of thrillers then it is recommended but you may have to wait for it to pick up in pace.
