I don't know what TJ Klune puts in these books that makes them so hard to put down, but I listened to almost this entire thing yesterday. What I like about this series is that way that Klune weaves in backstory to characters we've already come to love in each book, giving us a more rounded view of this found family as a whole. Plus, the narration in the audiobook is just so good!

I am once again, ranting about how much I love this series. I was incredibly anxious starting out this book once I learned about the shift in pov. But, that fear was gone almost immediately. The book, while different, still had all the elements and heart of this story and we were able to get another fantastically in depth look at some of our other characters. I cannot wait to read the next!

I didn't like it as much as the first book. The first book had moments that made me feel so relaxed, so warm and giggly. This book didn't really have those moments. It was more tense, more sad. It was good. The plot was welthought out. But I just didn't feel the same bond with the characters. To much war. Gordo and Mark are fine. I was curiuous about their past. Now I know. A bit stupid. Heartbreaking. The big villain of this book was... boring? I snoozed at her speeches. Real trouble getting through it. Didn't see the contribution to the plot. I am going to read the third book. Hoping this one will be more lighthearted. I want to feel fuzzy again.
