Jean Claude is amazing! Absolutely loved his no fucks given personality. Riley was neurotic but in a really endearing way.

Really enjoyed this so much, I even cried which I was not expecting. My only gripe is the ending was a little rushed and glossed over.

I love Elmwood though, small towns are probably my favourite setting to read about and this town just sounds so nice.

NEXT SEASON is the second book in The Elmwood Stories series.

Riley was hit hard on the ice and suffered a horrible concussion. Everyone thinks he's going to retire but Riley isn't ready to leave the game he loves. He especially doesn't want to go out like this. When his parents are hovering just a bit too much Riley jumps on the chance to go to Elmwood to heal when Vinnie calls offering Nolan's house for him to stay. Riley is all about superstitions and when he finds out the very interesting French chef at the diner makes amazing tuna salad, he has this crazy idea that it helps reduce his headaches. It has nothing to do with the man he finds completely intriguing for reasons he doesn't quite understand.

Jean-Claude once dated Nolan and followed him to Elmwood to help him change the diner into what it is now. They've become great friends and coworkers. Something about the mountain of a hockey man that keeps coming to the diner calls to JC. He wants to help him get better and he knows he shouldn't be flirting but he just can't seem to stop himself. JC agrees to let Riley explore the bicurious feelings he's having but keeping it between the two of them. Riley isn't ready for everyone to know what he's feeling and jumping out of a closet he had no idea he was in.

I so loved this couple, they were really my favorite of this series. Seeing how JC was able to help Riley come to terms with his sexuality and where is career could go. The chemistry was chart topping and they were just so sweet together.

I was given a free copy of this book.

Gorgeous bi awakening romance.
I enjoyed the first book.in the series but this one was perfect. A gentle romance with two endearing characters. I loved JC but I adored Riley, and the way he accepted his bisexual awakening without hand wringing and constant denial. Because of this the story is relatively angst free, but around 70% I was bracing myself for tears, and I wasn't disappointed. I sobbed while Lane Hayes ripped my heart out by getting her characters to act all mature and stoic.
It was good catching up with Vinnie and Nolan but they didn't dominate the story.
Great narration, especially with JCs French accent.
Highly Recommended.

Audio: 4.5-5 stars, I was hit or miss with Nick J Russo's French accent, but in the end, I came to not mind it haha!
Book: 3.5-4 stars

Cute, low angst, bi-awakening book. This had a lot of cute parts and made me smile, but nothing stood out to make it memorable. I did enjoy it and probably would read it again.

I wonder who the next couple will be in this series? Ivan, I think its him. Haha I am looking forward to Boring Bryson's book though haha if he gets one in the future!
