It was a pretty boring day at work and l was in the mood for a light romantic read. After searching through my devices and TBR pile for a good pick, Ready for You immediately caught my attention. Never did it occur to me that this choice was very dangerous – dangerously good I mean.

Ready for You is a straight up romance story centered on two broken hearted person. This is a story about ex lovers and how they lost each other but had a second chance. The most amazing thing in Ready For You is not the concept because its not very original. How many movie and stories had this plot cemented through the years? Numerous authors and scriptwriters delved deep and brought us great hits as well as humiliating flops. Ready For You, for me, is one great hit – a complement that I do not easily give especially to romance novels. TBH, I was anticipating a disappointment in Ready For You (that is always the case for me with romance – less expectation, less disappointment) however it wasn’t the case. Ready for you was amazingly good and addictive that I’ve lost a day at work finishing this baby. :P and the best thing, I had no regrets.

As I said, Ready For You is not a creative master piece. It is not unique or fresh but what made Ready For You stand out is how the author wrote a very emotionally packed story that made me shed a tear or two. It was very raw. The dialogues did not came out as scripted. The dialogue were natural and intense. I felt all the angst, love, regrets as well as lust that Mia and Garrett had for each other. All the emotions are solid and heartbreaking but beautiful as well.

Mia and Garrett’s chemistry is electric and dangerous. There’s so much book couple around who became a success because they make the perfect pair and for me Mia and Garrett is one of those. Usually dual POV stories will have weaker chapters due to its characters, however it was not the case in this story. Both characters carried their chapters very well and the story was very fluid. Mia can come off as irritating at times with the her “pity me” attitude but as I came to know her, I realized that what she felt was warranted. It takes time to warm up to her but there’s nothing to hate. I sympathized with Mia’s pain and I admire her strength through her journey. Garrett on the other hand was definitely boy candy. A character worthy of all the swoons and fantasy. I think the only factor that influenced my decision to make this a 5 star review is the fact that Garrett came out as too good to be true. Granted that he loved Mia so much that he can forgive her of anything, but I think he let Mia off the hook too easily given the circumstances of their issues. It wasn’t just about Mia leaving, it was so much more (you need to read the book!!!). I wanted more from Garrett – emotion that matches the gravety of what happened.

Oooohhh I almost forgot, this book is suitable for mature readers (yep – bold and underlined). Emphasis on the mature because it has a lot of steamy and dangerous love making scenes that will make you break a sweat. Not to be considered erotica as it was tastefully done – just not suitable for readers who are uncomfortable with mature content. Watch out for the first time these two had sex. Boy oh boy!!!

I could not emphasize enough how much I enjoyed Ready For You. As I said, I lost a days worth of work because I finished this bad boy and it was all worth it. The fact that I couldn’t focused on work because I wanted to finish this badly gives you an idea of how good this is so you don’t need me to convince you further. This is the third in the series but can be read as stand alone. Haven’t read the first two but plan on doing it as soon as and hoping that its as good as this one.

Pretty standard second chance romance story. I’m a sucker for this trope so I enjoyed the story. It’s similar to some Mia Sheridan stories that I’ve read recently. The audiobook narration is good

I have been waiting for Garrett's story. We met him in in sister, Clare's, book and you knew there was a story behind the quiet, sullen man. There was a reason, in the form of high school sweetheart Mia, but as everything unfolds, we discover two people who were meant to be together and were caught up in things beyond their control.

I couldn't help but love Garrett. When his character was first introduced, I had this need to hug him. Despite not wanting to open up to people and generally pushing them away, you saw his underlying sadness and knew something had happened to fundamentally change this guy. But the moment he lays eyes on Mia again, you completely understand what happened to him. Despite what he thinks, he isn't the only one that was ripped apart by what happened. When Mia was forced to leave him on their graduation night, she left behind the only man she'd ever loved. But when she lost her tie to him, she lost a huge chunk of herself.

Following the two of them as they navigate through getting reacquainted with each other and helping each other through loss is hard. Their emotions tends to leap off the page, whether it's hurt, anger, lust or their undying love for each other. You could sympathize with both of the characters and just wanted them to figure out how to work around what happened to them at eighteen and be happy together.

I've enjoyed all the books in this series. The author finds a way to pull readers into the story and place you smack dab in the middle of whatever emotional turmoil they find themselves in. The characters are real and keep you in their grasp until the very last page.

This book came along exactly when I needed it, a nice cute contemporary romance to get me out of a reading funk.

We first meet Mia and learn some of her story, and it is not an easy one, she is not looking forward to returning to her hometown and the ghosts that linger there.

We then meet Garrett and find out his side to the story, and no situation is ever the same to to different people. When he sees Mia again for the first time it stirs up all the old emotions that he thought were gone forever.

They decide to become friends again and see how that plays out for them, and as you can imagine, it is more difficult then either of them would think. There are things that Mia is keeping from Garrett that I didn't see coming and it was a good plot twist.

I liked the character development in this book, it fit the story perfectly. Overall this story gets a 4/5 from me!

We first met Garrett in JL's book When You're Ready. Throughout the first two books in the series, a major heartache for Garrett was alluded to. Ready for You is Garrett's story.

Garrett met Mia in high school, and they became inseperable. They even got engaged and were planning on marrying after their high school graduation. That is, until Mia left the night before their graduation without any warning, just a letter saying she never wanted to see him again. What was it that made her give up a future with Garrett?

When Mia suddenly comes back home, Garrett's entire life is turned upside down once again. After finding Mia again, will they be able to move forward? What happened to Mia, and will he forgive her?

I loved the first two books in this series, but Ready For You is definitely my favorite. JL wrote their emotions so intricately you can't help but feel everything her characters are. An amazing book from start to finish. I will say one disclaimer - make sure you have Kleenex when reading this book!

Don't get me wrong... I love second chances.

Thing is Garrett hands them out too easily. But that's just my opinion.

In the end, I did understand what was going on with Mia and I grew to like her. But before that? I mean, she completely left Garrett in the dark and she never fought for him.
All the time, he was the one who had to come back to her and save their love and their relationship. That was so annoying and frustrating. I mean, I just wanted her to stand up and fight but she was this poor girl who grieved and couldn't get her act together... Grrr

Well, the series is awesome and the writing style is really cool. Also, you always get two perspectives; however, the really interesting things aren't revealed before the end :D But that's good!

The plot is really good, though. But that's mainly because Mia never talks about her past and she always waits for the love of her life to come to her. Yeah, sorry, I'm still angry :D

Anyways, it's still a really nice book, so read it :D Don't listen to me rambling.
