Ok so I guess my biggest issue with this book (series) is that there's just too much going on. There are so many threads coming together that it gets really confusing. The author ends up giving us these big data dumps, which is just overload.
Regarding the sex scenes; I'm not a prude, I don't mind the smut but typically I'd go for a book with little plot and lots of smut or vice versa. Sometimes the sex scenes felt overdone or unnecessary.
Overall, I enjoyed the "murder mystery" plot of this story and there were parts of breaking the curse plot that were well done but I wish she had stuck to one or other. Having both of these plots running equal in the same book was overwhelming.
In the end, she does a good job of tying the story up in a neat little bow (which I always appreciate) while still leaving it open should she decide to add to the story in the future.

Two things.

I just want to know when we’re going to stop writing female MCs who are forced to sacrifice their entire being for a man…

And said man’s vice is WRATH, for crying out loud. There was not nearly enough spanking or choking in this smutty installment for that to be a believable concept. I NEED YOU TO COMMIT TO THE CHARACTER, KERRI!

Emilia is an absolute, unapologetic badass.

Here’s to ending this trilogy on a high and my strong hopes that more things Wicked will someday come.

The only reason it took me months to finish this book is that life got in the way. Otherwise, I would have devoured this book within the first month it came out.

Everything I love about Wrath and Emilia but with that little extra spice.

I liked the premise of the first book and am choosing to treat it as a standalone. I do think the music cues in the audiobook were interesting, but they gave me a jump scare every time lol.

I preordered the 2nd one and was disappointed, and this one gave me terrible Feysand and From Blood & Ash flashbacks.

I'm not sure if I'll read more of the adult books in this world because I think I've outgrown the Romantasy genre. There's rarely enough fantasy world-building and plot for me, and I prefer to just read romance if I'm wanting more of that in the mix because there's more actual romantic/character development with less filler.

It seems like there will be a love triangle in a future book and I despise those.

This series had so much potential. Unfortunately, the last installment in this trilogy fell SO flat for me.

I loved the first book of this series so much. The second book was a tad confusing and this one was sadly, my least favorite. I originally DNFd last year at 60% but decided to finish this because of the new book that’s out. It didn’t feel like there was a real plot, just a means to an end. The first book just feels so different from this one.
SpoilerI was so saddened by the “plot twist “ because everything that was “fake” is what made me love the first book.
The chapters also had odd pacing, moving fast then slow and some chapters jumping without explanation. And some parts felt rushed.  I still love the concept of the book and the characters and I hope I can fall back in love with this world in the authors new series especially now that it’s transitioned from YA to NA. I assume the unanswered questions will get answered in other books and I would still love to see a book on each sin. I will just have to accept this as Emilia and Wrath’s conclusion.
