I honestly wish I could give it more than five stars. I had a wonderful time reading this. I wish I knew these characters in real life because they just seem so wonderful. I loved the banter between the couple, the real life moments sprinkled in and the journey of forgiving yourself and finding yourself that the book highlights as well. Beautifully written, incredibly heartwarming, unbelievably funny. And this book now holds the record for most annotations I’ve done

It took me a while to fall into the rhythm of this book but by the time it was over, I loved the characters and was rooting for them .

I enjoyed getting lost in this world, and I enjoyed it on audio. I felt like the author tried to tackle at least one thing too many between the grandmother’s dementia, father’s infidelity, challenges of being a Hollywood star, facial deformities, AND a complex romantic story.

I really enjoyed Thank You For Listening! As an avid audiobook listener, I enjoyed the BTS look at audiobook narrators and the recording/publishing process. What I loved most about this book is the humor. The email/texting back and forth between Sewanee and Brock was making me laugh out loud in the car while I listened. I wish I was as quick and witty as them. There were several side stories with Adaku (best friend), Blah (grandma), dad/mom, and all of these added depth to the character, helping the reader empathize with Sewanee. I’d say this story leans towards women’s fiction since it centers around Sewanee’s growth but the fact that her and Brock are recording a romance novel (and flirting along the way) makes the book also feel like a romcom. I loved hearing the author narrate her own story. She is pretty amazing at voices and accents. I also thought it was clever to give the MC this same talent with a little scenario where someone just can’t grasp that a woman can narrate a male character. It made me chuckle. I felt like this book gave a big shout out to the romance genre and audiobooks, which is 90% of what I read. So ya, I was all about this book.
Thank you to @harperaudio for the gifted audiobook.
