I thought that the beginning of this book was really engaging, but I felt like it was a little long near the end. Was def in the dark about what was going on until the reveal, which I enjoyed. I'm not sure how accurate it was a portrayal of agoraphobia, but I liked reading about a character that this really dictated her life minute-to-minute. I was initially excited to find a new thriller author, but then I read more about him like lying about family members dying and having cancer? Which is so weird and not okay. So that's a no thank you from meeeee. But also,
why did the boarder keep the pic of the daughter on his wall?? very weird.
Also, was the first scene
supposed to be her boarder with the birth mother? I kept waiting for us to get back to that bit.
I also wasn't sure why Anna kept trying to talk to the cops, everyone, especially women, knows that if the cops decide that they don't believe you, they're never going to believe you, so you should stop making yourself look more and more untrustworthy.

This book is really well paced, the short chapters keep you engaged and the writing style is easy to follow.

Whilst I would argue one of the main twists was fairly easy to guess (if you read thrillers regularly) I did not see the ending coming and for that reason did not feel disappointed. It’s a thriller worth the read.

Wow! I didn't expect to love this book so much! The main character captured my heart right away (and surprisingly there were many parts that had me laughing out loud which feels so inappropriate for the themes of the book, but this author is very gifted). Couldn't put it down!
