I found myself more bored than intrigued by the mystery and twists in this one.  Would I have loved this if I had read it back when it came out? Probably - I was much more into domestic thrillers then.  But now, these twists felt predictable, except one which just seemed out of left field.  Nothing felt satisfying and I contemplated dnfing it for feeling so 3 star for the first half of the book.
Characters felt dull and I forgot about some details about side characters because they never seemed to affect the main character unless it was brought up in conversation.   No one felt unlikeable except the ex, but they were the typical flawed and untrustworthy characters you expect in a standard domestic thriller.  There are multiple tropes that I just don't enjoy - cheating, pregnancy goals and others. There are other triggers too, but I expected them once I realized which subgenre this thriller was.  Overall, there wasn't anything thrilling or exciting about this.

I own one other book by them and I fear it'll be more of the same.

This book was overall pretty good and I enjoyed it overall. However I do feel there were a few sub-plot lines that were included just to add another “twist” that wasn’t really necessary.

Really enjoyed the complexity of the story and the unraveling of the plot. Felt like the final reveal could have had more time, so that bit fell a bit flat.
