The cast and crew outdid themselves on this performance! It was an absolute treat to listen to, emotional and tense and a bit spicy too. Amren is still my favorite and her VA is amazing!

The slow-burn romance plot got me SO hooked. Rhysand is by far one of my fav characters ever.
I’m kinda not into the Mate concept though. Why’s Feyre so pissed to find out Rhysand’s her mate?? Maybe she’s confused but the fact that they’re mates allows her to get away from being accused of cheating by being with Rhys instead of Tamlin. Also, girlll!!!! Don’t go breaking Rhys’ heART like that! He’s been nothing but a keeper!
The war parts were good too but I felt way less invested in it compared to the first. I hope this new villain is more fleshed out than Amarantha though.

This is better than the first book by leaps and bounds, but Mass still struggles with pacing issues. After the first book, Feyre and Tamlin's relationship is irreparably broken. Desperate to get away from his smothering precense, she leans into her bargain with Rhysand of the Night Court, eventually allying herself with him completely. In theory, the book is about them preparing for war with the fae king Hybern. In actuality, it's long, long stretches of romance between Feyre and Rhys without any mention of the various quests they need to go on in preparation. And even when they do remember, it's often not what Feyre thinks. I liked the interactions between Feyre and Rhys, but Feyre is often the last to figure things out (even as the reader I was usually several steps ahead) and it really bogs down the plot. Both this and ACOTAR could have been a fraction of the length or at least broken into 2-3 books. For as popular as these books are, the pacing and structure is just odd...

THE ENDING WAS CRAZY!!! I literally laughed at the last line. This book had me crying in the fourth quarter then I was shocked/laughing at the last 50 pages. I love Rhysand 🥹 To be honest, I thought the first half of the book was really slow and kinda confusing, but then it picked up. Also the tagline of this book is “Indeed” because it’s written on nearly every single page. I’m excited for the next book!!
