I'm an odd one out. This book took me forever to finish because I thought it was incredibly boring... I was interested at first but shortly after the group hikes to Abandon I completely lost interest and had to force myself to finish this.

Interesting parallel timelines revolving around an abandoned mining town. Points taken off for overuse of the word whore (dude, I get it, there were sex workers in the old West mining town), the number of times that blood pools darly, and the end felt like the author ran out of pages, closed his laptop, and said, "done!"

My fault I didn't really know what type of book this was going to be. I thought it was more supernatural but it was mostly adventure which isn't really my thing. However, the book is well written, good fleshed out characters in two time zones who often unknowingly mirrored actions and phrases characters from the different time zone to the one they were in, I did enjoy noticing those little crumbs. It was chock full of action leaving me quite breathless at times. Trying not to give too much away it's a good reminder not to be greedy!
