It isn't that I disliked it, but ... honestly, the repetitiveness of the general plot is becoming tiresome. Harper gets kidnapped and/or assaulted so regularly that I just can't believe she doesn't have 2 guards attached to her hip at all times. Like, holding her hand as she pees, even. And at the end, when they are at a parade with Harper heavily pregnant - when we've heard repeatedly how crazily overprotective both their demons are because of her pregnancy... supposedly so much more overprotective than usual - how in fuck is she going anywhere without Knox when she's surrounded by people in a public setting? I mean, really? Come on.

I still love the characters, the world ... but the general formula of the plotlines, and the heavy addition of TSTL, started to grate a little.

Yeaaaaaah, still agree with my original review - the fact that she's CONTINUOUSLY kidnapped starts to feel really TSTL in this book. Like, this is an easy solve, have guards with her at all times. It makes them all look as dumb as a bag of broken bottles that she just gets constantly kidnapped and/or assaulted. And it's tiresome that this is a CONSTANT plot point.

My favorite so far! You can definitely feel the growth in their relationship but seriously get Harper some better body guards I can’t stand the same kidnapping situation happening again. you did it in 3 books now switch it up

Honestly? I was going with three stars again but the cute epilogue with Asher Thorne made me give in. I'm such a sucker for HEAs

again, this one picks up from where the last one ended, just a few months apart. harper and Knox go through so much throughout these books. it really tests them and their patience. Knox is incredibly possessive of harper, while she is just a badass and doesn't accept or take much. the praise and phantom hands continue throughout these books and its absolutely fantastic

I dove into Ashes as soon as I was able to after finishing Blaze and once again, Ms. Wright was able to top the previous book with the latest one in the Dark in You series! Ashes was just everything and more — I completely loved it. Ashes was utterly wonderful and I just can't get enough of this series!

I didn't think it was possible to love Knox and Harper anymore than I already do, but they proved me wrong. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because they are just an amazing couple and amazing people. Their love for each other is so deep and consuming and beautiful, you can feel it with every interaction and in every page. I can’t wait to read the secondary characters' books when it comes time for them, but I’ll admit it’s going to be hard not being in Knox and Harper’s heads, they’ll always be in my heart.

There were ways in which Ashes didn’t surprise me at all and then there were the times when it totally caught me off guard. Ashes was thrilling, endearing, and kept me on my toes — I never wanted to stop reading. It was beyond sweet, heartwarming, and full of love. I can’t tell you how much I loved it and I can’t wait to read Embers and see what happens next!

Ashes should be read after Burn and then Blaze, it’s told from Harper and Knox’s POV and they have a fantastic ending in this book.

Ashes is the third book in the Dark in You series, and it did not disappoint. From start to finish I was engaged, and was always yearning for more. Harper and Knox’s dynamic just seems to keep on getting better and better with each book.

4/5.

I started this book at like 7:00AM and I finished it at 8:00PM but I took a three hour gap in there so it really only took me 10 hours or so to read it. I loved it! I loved the development of Harper and her bad relationship with Carla.

5/5 stars!
