It's a cute book with simple illustrations and lots of opportunities for caregivers (or older readers) to do lots of animal noises. The cadence can be a bit odd since the pages seem to rhyme sometimes but the rhythm isn't quite right. And the singing pigs right in the middle are the only animals that don't make the "proper" noise, but unlike most kids books, this doesn't lead to some lesson or anything. It's just...there.

July 2019 - minimal text with some humor and plenty of animal noises. Eleanor loves the animal noises right now, so we're having fun with this one. Plus the rhymes make it fun to read aloud.

Not my favorite Sandra Boynton book, but certainly a classic. Lots of fun animal sounds that Sean can practice making in here.

My son received Moo, Baa, La La La! as a Hannukah gift two years ago. It is a cute non-sense book that takes the typical animal themed board book and turns it on end. It starts out in a straight forward manner with cows saying moo and sheep saying baa, but then the pigs aren't saying oink. Instead, they are singing "La la la!"

After the initial gag that explains the title, the book wanders on to more exotic animals and what they might say. These last few pages lack the rhytmn and humor of the first half, which is a shame for such a short book.

I got tired of it after a while, but remember this was one of my son's first favorite books. He was 7 months when he wanted this read over and over. He will be turning 10 soon, and I still remember the many times we read this book.

Five month old Ada and I have been reading this book a lot this week. It's not her favourite but it's ok. I like the rhyming text, and she seems to appreciate it also, but Ada is more into faces these days. She seems to get a big kick out of the cats saying meow!

These ridiculous little board books are so popular, I have visions of Boynton dictating them to a lean cabana boy while she sips cocktails and clucks disapprovingly at the inefficient pool skimmer she let Charlotte talk her into buying.

This book makes me giggle and the kids like it.

Very satisfying but not one of my favorites of Boynton's, as it's a bit simpler. However, her books are still better than most children's books to me.
