still obsessed with this series and the storyline, i just found connor and lanny slightly annoying at times. after gwen discovers her serial killer ex husband has escaped prison and he is coming to kill her- she only has one option. kill him first. we are taken on a journey with her sort of lover but also a family member of a victim of melvin royal to kill him. what will it take to kill him and keep her and her children safe?

Loved this as much as the first. I am perfectly content not knowing what happens in the third one though. If I remember when it comes out then I'll read it, but this book didn't end with nearly the same cliffhanger that the first one did. Both books are definitely at the top of my favorite thrillers though.

It was a good follow-up to Stillhouse Lake, but I have to say I enjoyed it significantly less. I didn't really liked the multiple narrators, even though I can see why they were needed to tell this story. I'll still want to read the next book though!

Second in the Stillhouse Lake series, and I was pleasantly surprised that it sucked me in like it did. Usually series that have such a great book 1 I am normally disappointed with the rest of the books in the series. This held my interest from beginning to end with a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Can’t wait to continue this series!

Gwen is badass and Sam is one hell of a loyal guy (even though he kinda did say “I’m in” for Gwen to be kidnapped, but he knew what he was doing. That’s what matters. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.)

Also, Lanny and Connor made it. Lanny knows how to put up a fight definitely. I felt bad for Connor though. He thought he was just talking to his dad because he missed him. But thank god Lanny called him before he would have been abducted.

Oh and one last thing.

CHEERS TO THE DOWNFALL OF MELVIN ROYAL BY GWEN PROCTOR.

How you like that, you rotten son of a bitch who will be roasting in Hell for all eternity.
