Frustratingly, the story arc is the best in the series so far but the departure of Jae Lee has led to a dip in the quality of the artwork.

I just cannot get enough of Roland, Mid-World, or the Gunslingers. The Marvel series of comics/graphic novels really does a great job of fleshing out Gilead and Roland's life as a teenager, while still keeping King's tone of the books. Highly recommended for all Dark Tower fans.

All previous events lead up to a battle of a lifetime. See how Gilead fairs before the world moves on.

GN series still continuing strong - though I have to admit I always imagined Gilead's Fall to be a more gradual thing, and not such a sick and sudden sort of rout. Wasn't really much in the way of fighting, all things considered, and a lot of it was just so ignominious.

Also, I know these books aren't quite cannon, but in my head I keep trying to fit in the story from Wind Through the Keyhole into this timeline, and it doesn't quite work. Heh.

I think this is probably my favourite graphic novel out of this entire series so far. They’ve all been beyond amazing but this one just took it to another level for me. The illustrations truly brought the story to life EXACTLY how I had imagined it. It was like seeing what I had imagined so many times while reading the novels directly put on paper, swiped right from my imagination. If that doesn’t tell you how perfect this adaptation is and how much I loved it then I don’t know what will! I especially enjoyed how damn true it stays to the novel, not once did I find myself thinking “that’s not how it goes” and that’s quite remarkable. I truly couldn’t come up with a single complaint, this graphic novel really is perfection. Dark Tower junkies, you definitely want to get in on this!

How many times can your heart break for one series? One world? One fictional character?

Far too many. The title of this installment says it all. It is the fall of Gilead, the fall of the majority of the Gunslingers. The fall of all of these faces that I have just been reintroduced to. Before they were merely names that were mentioned in the story. They are now a part of the story itself and I am sad to see them go.
