I really enjoyed reading about Gus and Jen in this installment novella of Montgomery Ink Legacy. The story and the way it unfold was great. I really enjoyed the way Carrie Ann wrote this novella.

Jennifer and Gus after a year of flirting and being partners have changed the game. Their security detail is becoming increasingly difficult when they worry about each other. Especially Gus, his first instinct is to protect and with Jennifer that’s where he struggles. He knows he has a job to do but with Jennifer being his partner and in the way of harm, he has to compartmentalize it. Jennifer is a skilled,
Strong, can kick your butt woman who doesn’t need protection. As their relationship changes they need to find a balance with each other. Love this family line of “Montgomery’s”.  Well you know how it is. The Montgomery’s just take you in their fold and you somehow become one.  And just what is happening with Kane?  Daisy?  Kingston?  Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

A fun novella, but plenty of story to keep this reader interested. It is always fun to visit the Montgomery’s or, in this case, a couple of people who work with them. Jenn and Gus have been tapdancing around their crushes with each other, but not acting on it. As the distractions build, they give in for one night. From here, we get a few twists, and a surprise, but an overall fun read. If this is your first Carrie Ann Ryan or a seasoned Montgomery reader, I recommend you read it.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I loved this twosome.  Gus and Jen are perfect for each other.  The hot scene in the office was a great start to there story and just got better from there.  There story appeared to move fast however the slow simmer had been there through a couple other stories.   Loved them and I really like getting to know the next generation.

Montgomery Security coworkers Gus & Jennifer have a weird standoffish relationship. To Jen, Gus has this way of always trying to interfere or save her from doing her security detail/protection job when they work together. Gus can’t not notice Jen and has to continually catch himself from being distracted at work & distractions have consequences.
These two finally hash out their emotions and have one firey encounter in the office.
This is 4/5 stars for me-I realize Gus is trying to be a good guy & protect those he cares about, but also, he’s all up in Jen’s business and it makes our heroine doubt herself.

*Received an ARC for an honest review* This is an office romance with friends to lovers.  We’re back with the Montgomery clan, this time with Gus and Jennifer, coworkers at a protection firm.  They finally give in to their chemistry for a ‘one night stand’ with interesting results.  I love their interactions.  This is a quick read and a good book for anyone wanting to get a look into this series.

This was a quick, fun, kept me on my toes read. Gus and Jennifer have been flirting around, friends, co workers, and distractions. Need more? One night changed it all. They finally give in to the chemistry between them but is one night enough? It has to be. However they loose the easy going banter between them. They both want to get back to that point, but it is complicated and there are consequences. I loved the interaction between these two. I loved the way this book is written, both fast paced but not fast enough (if that makes sense) and at the same time I did not want it to end.

Montgomery Ink Legacy book 4.5 by Carrie Ann Ryan.
Gus and Jen work for Montgomery cousins Daisy, Kane and Kingston in there private agency that do personal security and surveillance.
Gus and Jen have serious chemistry that they ignore for a while but one night of passion gets better of them.
Love how bad ass they are and are very well suited.
Absolutely love this series but would have loved more as a audiobook. Carrie Ann Ryan has the best voice narrators available.

In the past year Gus and Jennifer have risked their lives for each other, trusted each other with everything but the deepest parts of themselves, the quietest parts.  Now they can’t keep their eyes off each other and it has become a distraction that is not safe for either of them in their line of business.   Neither of them are good at relationships, but maybe if  they act on their attraction just once, it will get it out of both their systems and they can go on working together.  This a fast paced steamy friends to lovers novella that ticks all the boxes.  It has heaps of emotion intermixed with bodyguard danger and suspense.  Always love catching up with any the Montgomerys.  Great addition to the “Montgomery Ink Legacy” Series.

I’m really enjoying these novellas by Carrie Ann Ryan. This novella centers around Jennifer (Jen) and Gus who both work at Montgomery Security and Gus refers to her as his co-worker and nemesis but they both have off the chart chemistry and constantly flirt with each other. Definitely enjoyed these two characters until one glance at a job and they have to leap into action to stop a possible threat and that makes Gus angry at himself and a tad at Jen for distracting him. That however sparks their underlying chemistry, and a kiss becomes more. Jen soon finds out however that there are lingering effects to their time together and when a job goes South, Gus is injured, and so is Jen and that is when he finds out what has been going on with her and her news. Just when things were getting back to somewhat normal another threat turns up at the office of Montgomery Security and the ladies, while they are threatened, take charge and the guys show up at the moment where the threat has been handled and they just need to help when the police show up. That was one of my favorite parts. There is a line in this story that truly sums up the Montgomery family - - ‘when in the vicinity of the Montgomery’s, you become one. It’s a cult.’  This is a great novella and I definitely want more with this group of characters and especially Jen and Gus.
