I don’t know if I want Bruce Springsteen to be my father or if I want to be Bruce Springsteen he’s AWESOME. This is so good!!! His prose is so genuine and reflective of the same emotionality and introspection and accessibility (yet complexity) created and maintained in his songwriting.  I laughed and I cried and I was so entertained the entire book and it got me out of like a six month period of having not finished any books. SO GOOD I can’t get over it.

I loved this, but it got too long. I felt I had learned enough and listened enough. So although I didn’t finish, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Bruce Springsteen describe his childhood, upbringing, love of music and rise to fame.

I picked this up after seeing him I. Concert in San Diego in March 2024. At 74 years old, he is just as magnetic as he was 35 years ago. What a performer.

18 hours of listening to Bruce read his memoir. Nice way to spend some time while out walking.

Outstanding; poetic, authentic, deep and joyous.

I had a healthy appreciation for Springsteen's music, but knew little about the man. What struck me most were his respect for his audience. I also loved that music didn't come naturally to him, that he worked crazy hard for a long time to actually get good at his passion.

The man's a natural born storyteller, and listening to this as an audiobook meant hearing him tell his own story, in his own way. What a joy. I'm not usually one for autobiographies, but I loved this for its lyricism how open it is about mental health.
