Such a fun, imaginative series. This one seemed to have fewer in book puzzles to solve, but I enjoyed the message about the importance of research to find the truth rather than making assumptions on partial information.

A good installment in the series. The story did feel a little rehashed with the attempt-to-discredit-Mr-Lemoncello plot but it was a good reminder about doing good research and the way that public opinion can be manipulated with complete fabrication.

Before starting Mr. Lemoncello’s Great Library Race, I wondered how Grabenstein could keep writing these books without repeating himself, and whether or not I would like book three as a result.

It turned out not to be a problem at all! I loved it. I especially liked how the book transitioned into the mystery and showed that there are things more important than winning. It’s also a great example on how to do research and work with others, even if you didn’t choose to work with them. Of course, the book was also adventurous and funny. Kids will love it.

Chris Gravenstein, you've done it again! You've made a wonderfully fun book filled with games, libraries, competitions, and real life. Truly it was a joy to read this book and I hope to share it (and the other Mr. Lemoncello) books with my students soon, especially to prove research can be fun! Thank you for a fabulous story!

Not as good as the first but better than the last. My kids are Lemoncello crazy since the movie came out and I timed this to read along with those who got to check out our copies first. I love the emphasis on research and would like to find a way to make this the mentor text for researching units. Didn't realize Shana Corey, who I adore, is the editor! Love the list of books at the end -- can't remember if the first two had them or not.

One of my favorite series as a librarian, but definitely a niche series for kids. With introduction and urging from teachers, though, they gobble these up! Book 3 is another solid addition to the series, and I actually liked it better than book 2. Book 1, however, remains my favorite in the series.

Going into this, I feel like my review will be a rollercoaster. A good number of highs, but an equal number of lows (DISCLAIMER: potentially untrue claim).

Generally speaking, I really liked the story itself. It moved quickly and maintained my interest the entire time. They didn’t spend too long on a single task to where it became boring, and they were on the move and solving mysteries consistently. I really just enjoyed the whole overarching plot of the story — a bunch of kids traveling the globe(/country) for a game. It felt very much like The Amazing Race!

I liked the nonfiction/research angle for this one.
