This book was suggested to me by Storygraph as one that would be outside of my comfort zone. It was, a little. The (necessary) world building took me a while to get through and I was starting to lose patience, but get through it I did, and then the story took off. This book is beautifully written. In parts, it was truly terrifying. I think the story will stay with me for a while.

The World had launched off a planet a 150 years ago and in fifty years it'll make it to its destination, however it's unlikely it's going to make it.
The World is dying. Top scientists have been trying to fix the growing hole in the hull to no avail and the end of the world is imminent.
Myrra Dal, a contract worker, discovers the truth about the End of the World and has to figure out how she should spent the time she has left.
-------------------------------------
This book was so heartbreakingly beautiful.
You realize the ending halfway through but you keep reading it to see if maybe things work out.
It's a book essentially about trying to reconcile with the idea of the world ending with everything you experienced.
The worldbuilding for this book was phenomenal and liked how Levien portrayed generational trauma. classism and parental cycles.
It's not really heavy with the worldbuilding instead the book spends a lot of time with characterization which I really enjoyed. Everyone was really fleshed out and realistically.
It took me a little while to finish this book because I knew I was going to be sad at the end of it.
The ending was amazing and this book is probably going to stick with me for a while.

I enjoyed every single one the characters! They were all a delight. This read a bit more like ya than adult, however. It left me feeling a bit detached from what could have been a very effective and powerful story. I personally want to feel eviscerated when I read about “high stakes” stories, and even at the end I didn’t feel as though I was there with the characters…simply a spectator. This could very much work for someone else and their reading tastes, though! I absolutely still recommend checking this out if the premise interests you. Overall I enjoyed this story!
