I get the sense that the author might be a bit fat phobic by the way she wrote the main character, the story itself isn't very good, some scenes are too detailed while other lack usefully information.

Audio: (3) ⭐⭐⭐
& Story: (3) ⭐⭐⭐

A solid cozy mystery. Before this novel, I'd never really delved into "cozy mysteries" and now I can see why. This book was honestly boring and rather dull. The lead, Rachel was written to be a likable character but her actual actions in the book said otherwise – she was judgmental and self-righteous in a way I often found irritating. The narrator also did a terrible job with the accents, butchering every foreign pronunciation in the book, I wish she had just stuck to her British accent for the whole story...

There was a slightly interesting twist at the end (though I saw it coming a mile away) and I enjoyed that the victim in this murder mystery actually survived in the end. There's nothing glaringly wrong with this book, but I just don't think it has enough "oomph" for me. I have the 2nd book, but after reading that, I will not be continuing this series.
