I love this series. It makes me laugh and keeps me guessing and it’s so fun to see a vampire book with some new ideas. An awesome read.

Initially four stars for pure plot and teenage vampire drama (which I love) but lost a star for genuinely using the word “collaborate” instead of “corroborate”. Oof.

Similar to the first book in this series (Marked), the writing was REALLY simplistic and juvenile, but the plot was enough to keep me reading. This books ends on a not-unpleasant cliff hanger, so I will definitely be reading the third book sooner or later...

A similar follow-up to a very average YA fantasy - I just do not believe in these characters or the vampires. It's like Gossip Girl with teeth. However, *ahem*, I am mildly intrigued as to what our dear headmistress is hiding, so I will be seeking out the third book.

So I like this series and it's pretty interesting. But, the writing kills me! How many times do we have to go through the whole entire summary of what has happened in the first two books. Also, I hate ow Zoey talks to herself and completely sounds like an idiot all the time. I know the casts were trying to make it sound more teenagerish, but come on! What teenager talks like Zoey? I know I certainly don't. And holy shit with all the boyfriends and crap in her life. It definitely sucks to be her, but she is a crappy friend. She orders her friends around all the time. I think she deserved to have them all abandon her. Anyways, I have ranted enough. I'm still getting ready to read the rest f the series. Can't wait! Only a tad bit sarcastic right there.
