Predictable and with slow pace, conclusion is disappointing.

Might get back to it at a later point, but I just couldnt connect to this one. Considering I typically enjoy his build ups more than his endings, me not having a good time in the start just put me off from continuing.

DNF I didnt even make it through the first two chapters. I don't think I have ever been less interested in two characters so fast. They fell completely flat, there was no attention grabber.
The setting is usually something I love I'm always on board with a haunted house. However, even with an attempted strong beginning in the first chapter it just came across as a book that was going to be over worded and dryer than the Sahara.
I'm a little mad to be honest, I have been excited to get to this book for awhile and as I just finished Max Brooks' new book "Devolution" I'm kind of in a horror mood but I have too many books I want to get to without wasting time on a book that managed to put me to sleep in the first chapter.
