This was an excellent short story anthology by a slew of Black creators. Ranging from 20s gangster stories to Afro-futurist tales, the art and writing was solid throughout. I’d highly recommend this volume!

Hey everyone. I wrote the story Entanglement in Noir Is The New Black. I hope you enjoy it as well as the other stories.

omg this was so so good. some stories were maybe 8 pages and yet they had so much to say. many left me wanting to know more, whether that be what would happen next or more about the world in which the story took place. this left me with a lot of lingering emotions and i want to read more!

I just finished Noir is the New Black, an anthology of 16 graphic novels, written, inked and drawn by some 40 Black writers and artists. And I'm sad. But it's a good kind of sad. The kind that happens after being in the hands of master story tellers for hours, and the journey sadly comes to an end. The stories are just too damn short, leaving the reader hungry for more. While there is always a good sense of resolution, there are also hints that a new volume is in the making. There are clever twists in the hardboiled detective stories narrated here, including a few set on different planets, and several set in the near past. The detectives, all hell bent on justice, also include some LGBTQ+ folx (and here I echo Oliver Twist: "More, please.") It's all a really satisfying read, with top notch full colour art work. I repeat: "More, please"!
