They didn't make Achilles and Patroklos a couple and I can't quite forgive them for it. Also the Moses thing was a little out of left field.

Other than that pretty solid, wish I'd read the while lot when I was 14 I'm sure it would've blown my mind.

Really enjoyed it. Ending was quite satisfying. Having said that, I didn't like the conclusion of Hector and Archilles. It was too cliché.

The Trojan War: A Love Story... but not about Paris and Helen. Love of brothers at arms, mentors and friends, and two minor characters in the original story, but one that will end up doing great things.

What an ending! What a series! Gemmell has crafted a trilogy to fall in love with and characters to remain with the reader forever. This brought out *all* the tears and though there was much to wrap up, tension was well maintained. I think it was a little less polished than book 2, which may be explained by Gemmell's passing. Regardless, I am very pleased with the ending and I'm sure I will return to this series in the future!

A must read for any fantasy/historical fiction fan.

This is the last book in a trilogy about the Trojan War.
The entire synopsis of this book can be summed up by saying it's a book of war. It is, in it's entirety, a book of battles, small and large.
I have enjoyed the entire series. It is filled with epic battles and epic heroes, strong women and brave warriors, death and life. Where some of my favorite characters die and some live.
And in the end, it was a fabulous read and I'm ever so sorry that David Gemmell won't be writing anymore books.

Maybe I wasn't in the right headspace when I was reading this, but it just felt boring to me (granted this is the last book in the series and I haven't read any of the books before).

Will probably try to finish this in the future since everyone else seems to love it (?)

Although I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other 2 (this one had more intricate descriptions of battles and fighting, which I tend to somewhat gloss over), I still love the plot, characters, and David Gemmell’s writing. He has a way of drawing you in to the characters!

We've all heard of Troy, and the fall of what was depicted as a truly great city. I truly enjoyed this whole series and will read more by David Gemmell. Even though this was the last book he wrote (it was finished by his wife Stella Gemmell after his death. She must be a gifted writer on her own, because any transition between the two writers was seemless and unnoticeable), I'm looking forward to delving more deeply into the back catalog of David Gemmell.

I ate these books up. It took me only a few days to read all the books. The love story completely sucked me in and I kind of swoon every time <3

This was a bit of a letdown for me after reading the first two books. Granted, it was mostly written by David Gemmell's wife (using a draft he had started and notes for the plot), but it just didn't draw me in like the others. Sadly, the characters and story seemed quite bland in comparison - it felt like more of a telling than an emotional journey.
