A collection of poems about books written by Laura Purdie Salas. How can you do wrong? Love the poems and their descriptions of reading and books. My favorite line was from the poem "Book Plate", describing the book plate as "a paper love tattoo." Beautiful!

I'm a sucker for illustrations that use collage. Josee Bisaillon absolutely does not disappoint. Plus poetry about some serious book love? What's not to like!

Perfect poetry collection for any bibliophile. The rhyme scheme is a bit amateurish, but I only minded it a little bit.

This book caught my eye at the library, and decided to give it a quick read. Bottom line: this is my life! For any lover of books, bookstore, bookplates, and book paraphernalia, this is a wonderful collection of short poems that ties it all together. This would make a great present for any young, budding reader.

Love this--I am not usually a fan of books written about reading and books. They often seem a bit contrived. But this one is great. A good variety of poetry that will start great conversations about books and reading.

A banal book about books told in poetry and brightly colored illustrations. Sadly, not the best.

Overall the poems are hit or miss but some are just bad, and the fact that it is for children is no excuse. The ryhmes are expected or forced and some poems are entirely too literal. I was hoping for more imagination than just a book literally speaking.

"please, Bury me in the Library" is much better

I loved this! Book Speak is the perfect title as many poems are told from the perspective of the books: the conflict, the end, the illustrations, the index. I can’t wait to share these poems with my students and will definitely be purchasing a copy of this one for my own shelves.
