I liked the plot threads and feeling like this universe expanded a little with the appearance of other witches.

It is not grabbing me as strongly as Charley Davidson, but it is still entertaining and carries Jones’ signature wit.

Another 5 star book in my opinion from Darynda! ☺️ I love how these books leave you wanting more.

Defiance inherited her grandmothers house Percy, which is really her grandfather. She pulled her grandmother out of the Veil in book 1 and now her grandma is engaged to the chief of police. Her best friend moved to Salem with her and so did her dads. There is a wolf shifter, wilt wearing groundskeeper named Roane and a little ghost boy Samuale (That catches you up from the first 2 books).

Defiance is trying to solve Gigi’s murder all while trying not to die herself. She has also started her business bread crumbs inc with Nette.

AGAIN I repeat... if being a charmling is so secretive then why oh why did Ruthie blab about it to everyone?
I Love love love the memes and sayings at the beginnings of the chapeters

I really really love Rhoan but I think everyone does.

I knew Paris and Harris were the ones after Percy!

We don't really get to see what happens with the hunters and what her new familiar really is..

I can't believe after the heartbreaking end to Charley Davidson series we get to get a revised version of Charley!
Darynda's humor has captured me again, causing laugh out loud moments that make me look insane to bystanders and she manages to integrate her favorite words (like affianced and nigh), create 2 adult besties who live off of coffee, a wise-cracking matriarch, a ghostly sidekick, a creature that most would never consider as a pet, a hot as sin hero with murderous daddy issues, and a cop who's down with the paranormal deets.
Even with all the similarities (and more I can't even name) it still manages to be an entirely different story and I fucking love it! <3 I just so MAD that I have to wait for the rest of them!

This series is addictive, I wish I found it when all the books were done! Now I have to wait, ugh.

I will say Darynda Jones is the queen of cliffhangers, I had almost forgot...

3.5 stars. There were some interesting revelations in this one, but the goofy Charley-like witticisms are starting to get on my nerves.
