Please be advised that my review is extremely biased as I am a direct relation to the author. Doesn't mean my review is good though lol.

To start offered, are we following the fictional narrative of the young girl or is this nonfiction? This book can't make up its mind and jumps back and forth at such a weird pace.

The fact that this book on indigenous culture is written by a Catholic white woman just SCREAMS bad news. But i am taken aback by how culturally sensitive it is, ESPECIALLY for being published in the early 80s. Having the topic of white guilt in a children's book no less? Outstanding.

I dont know a lot about how (or if) the author did any good to these communities (other than adoption and certain church initiatives that are unknown to me, but even that's up for debate here) but this surely wasn't it.
