A very fun, very silly read to help deal with body issues. While this is mostly a silly picture book, learning to love the skin your in unapologetically never goes out of style

I dig the positive message, but it's hardly groundbreaking or insightful. The book read more like a fb post than a book.
No hate on Nicole Byer bc she's fabulous, just not a great read.

My love for Nicole Byer and everything she creates is unending. I was so happy to dive into her book and read her stories of being #brave. The photos are absolutely stunning and her words are nurturing for the soul. Absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a quick read that will make you smile while working on yourself.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s all about loving your body no matter what. It’s hilarious. I was laughing out loud. The photos are great and super fun.
The only thing this is missing is the brands of those bikinis so can order my favorites.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I just adore Nicole Byer (Nailed it is just amazing) and I love these books about body positivity. So I had to try out this book, and I can tell you I loved it and will be adding it to my collection when the book releases in May!

This book is about body positivity and then especially doing stuff in a bikini. Nicole can list around 199 things you can do in a bikini and encourages you to add some more. Some of the things include baking bacon (though she recommends not wearing a bikini for that :P), bench-pressing a baby, throwing bags of potatoes in the ocean, and more. I had such a big laugh at this one.
She even includes a guide on finding a special bikini for two occasions and there are plenty of tips on how to overcome and be brave! I loved reading those tips. I am not fat or overweight, but I got enough body issues that I drive my hubby crazy, so I was happy with those tips. I hope I don’t offend someone, given that this book is about fat + bravery and I am in the OK weight range. But yeah, body issues are real. God, I wish I could just love my body.

**If you are offended easily, don’t like swear words, and raunchy topics this book isn’t for you**

***Possible trigger warning: sexual harassment***

I loved how authentic and open she is. This book has given me the confidence to go and buy clothes that actually fit me. Nicole is someone I look up to and have always envied her confidence. But there’s no reason I need to envy her when I can be #brave myself. I have been wanting to feel confident in the body I have it’s been so hard because of the unrealistic expectations society has for bodies. They say you must be this size to wear a bikini, this size to wear a crop top, etc, but will call a fat person who puts on a crop top #brave. It’s not #brave to wear something society says not to. We are wearing something we feel good in, or moving our body in a way that feels good not for society but for us. I say go out and buy that tight dress, and wear that low cut top. You as a “lil fattie” (what she calls us fat people) deserve to feel your best. Be who you are, love who you are, and never be sorry for taking up space. You are loved and adored by so many.
I will be posting positive affirmations around my house on sticky notes and on my mirror to remind myself that I am worthy of being me and rocking that bikini. And I will be looking at myself in the mirror a lot more and speaking to myself kindly.
I recommend this book to my fellow amazing fat people in the fat community. This book really focuses on being fat and tips and tricks to feel your best (not one of those dumb self help books written by a skinny white lady/dude who give you tips on the same subject). This book is very raunchy and if you are offended easily or don’t like swear words, this book isn’t for you.

Hilariously, I started reading this today as a way to read more physical books, since I’m 100% audiobook and I’m trying to improve my skills. Surprise surprise when I found out this is basically a picture book
