Ravina lives in a garbage dump and is raised by crows. One day, when she is still a little girl, an old woman with needles stuck all over her comes to dump. Ravina helps her and she is given a magic wand for her kindness. When some men come to develop the land the dump is on some years later Ravina finds herself out in the world and it is weird. Wonderfully weird.
The best part of this odd little tale is the artwork. Junko Mizuno's work is beautiful, dark and gorgeous and demands a second reading if only to pay proper attention to every line.

I'll admit I had never heard of this book when I grabbed it from the library but the cover and title sealed my fate. For such a small book, it sure packed a punch and while the story was odd to say the least, the artwork was truly beautiful and made it completely worth the read.
In this graphic novel, Ravina is an abandoned girl living in a garbage dump and being raised by crows. One day, when the dump is being cleaned up for redevelopment, Ravina is found and is adopted by a rich old man. Let's just say the story takes a turn and she ends up running away because her main job is to spank him and his friends every day and she quickly becomes bored. Did I lose you? This book might because it just gets weirder from here. Ravina encounters some more crazy characters along her journey and there might be some deep underlying meaning here but I couldn't find it.
As I mentioned, I give "Ravina the Witch" 3/5 but need to clarify. The artwork was definitely a 5/5/ but the story and extremely short length (48 pages) were a 2/5. Yes, I know that doesn't average 3/5 but sue Goodreads, not me (insert half star rating rant here).
If you see this from the library, I don't think you'd be out anything by giving it a chance. I would not recommend purchasing it unless you just like to collect nice graphic artwork books. In my honest opinion, it's simply not that good of a story.
